AT Pro 25 for 40 bucks - worth it?

A friend of mine has one basically unused...that he will give me for 40 bucks....or else he is going to sell it to someone else, so...I have to decide quick...

I was planning on buying an AKG D112 (this is going to be for kick drum only, basically..) which, will set me back about 200 bucks or so.

So, on the one hand...I am saving 160 bucks...thats a big deal..

On the other...if I am going to get second rate sound comparitively...then, I don't want it.

I have always heard good things about the Pro 25...but, this is just a double check...and in comparison to the D112. I just one a nice rich thump...for rock music.

i dont think there is anything really second rate about the 25 pro, in comparison to the atm25 the difference is barely noticeable... so having never heard the d112 mic, but but blindingly placing it in the smae category as the 25 pro's big brother, then i would definatly get the 25 pro and use that spare cash for your phone bill, rent grocieries or whetever else youv'e been neglecting that is assuming your anything like me

just do it. I got the same kind of deal on mine but I got mine for 35.00
