At 4060 ???????

I have the chance to get one at a great price. I have 2-- 4033's that I like.
Is the pre that comes with the mic noisy? I want to use it on piano....organ ....acoustic guitars....drum OH...... vocals....maybe miking a bass cab.....pretty much any thing. I already have some decent mics and an assortment of mid and low end pre's. I have done a search but would like to hear from those that own one and how it has worked for them.

it isnt a pre...it is a power supply.

OK......so does this mean that I have to couple it to a pre? I have never used a mic with an independant power supply before and have not seen the
unit to examine it.

Yeah, generally tube mics have an external power supply, and you hook the mic to the power supply and the power supply to the pre.
