I'm a bluegrass musician and I currently have a stereo pair of AT 4041s that I use for recording acoustic guitar and mandolin. They turn out great recordings for this application. My question is...would I gain anything by moving up to the AT 4051? The AT 4041 is very transparent and accurate. Like most SDC mics, vocals are not its strength. But it really shines on acoustic instrument recording. I'm not sure it can be improved upon for this application. IMHO, this is its main strength and it does it extremely well. But I've read so many positive comments regarding the AT 4051. Is it noticeably better?
