AT 4040SP + AT40401 studio pack. User opinions + street value? + compare so RE-20

i can get this pack new for $450 USD.

(audio technica at4040sp which includes 4041).

i want to buy for male vocal / duet with female and use the 4041 on an acoustic guitar.

i just want to know user opinions on these 2 mics before i buy anything.

atm i use an EV re-20 for vocal and sm57 for guitar and love em.

hows the at4040sp in comparison?

I have a 4033 and a 4047- love 'em both. You can't go wrong with any of AT's 40-series mics.

Apples and oranges.

RE-20 is my favorite vocal mic, and although its condenser-like in its clarity, it doesn't behave like a condenser.

For about $100 more you could pick up an AT 4050, which is a multipattern workhorse you'll use forever.

apart from developing RSI at uni things are good hows life up yonder?

may look around for a 4050.. it would have to be alot better to suade me at that price.. ><
