At-4033 >= at-3035 ?

As an acute manifestation of the chronic fatigue and depression I suffer due to not having an AT-3060, I picked up an additional AT-3035 yesterday. So now I have a pair of 3035s and a pair of 4033s (and some other AT mics, but that's beside the point, because they do not include the 3060).

I'm too lazy to perform the requisite exhaustive testing, so let me reach out to you other AT fans with my question: is there anything you'd use a pair of AT-3035 for that you would not also use (or prefer) a pair of AT-4033 for?

Using them out in the field Id prefer the 3035...since they are cheaper and easier to come by...the 3035 is usually a pretty good choice where you would reach for a 4033 normally.

I have never thought they were as good, as far as bang for buck - If I can afford better I get better.

Actually, I could donate my mics to Goodwill, camp outside until they bring them out for sale, buy them, and have a red-letter day! I could then post here and omit the part about donating and camping - awesome! I might even forget about the 3060 for a few minutes.

Thanks for the responses - I'll think of the AT-3035s as a more limited and expendable backup set for the 4033s

I like the 3035 better for some vocals. But the 4033 is the superior mic in general.

As a pair, the 3035 is probably better. I had a 4033, and it was a fairly wide cardiod mic. And the frequency response of the 4033 was not flat by any means. The 4033 is a good mic. Loved the detail of it. Hated not having things sound exactly like they do at the source. Loved selling it for what I bought it for. Wish I could get the same detail on my other mics.
