ASR X is a cool machine, but it's sequencer is one of the worst I've ever encountered, and because of this, the MPC is better. The effects in the ASR X, now that's a different story... I miss that black box.

i've got the asr-x pro
(red box) and i love that thing. it's got the urban dance card installed, and i've got some decent percussion samples (conga , timbale, and such).
the FX are outstanding, but as mentioned the sequencer sucks. i use it and a Roland XV-3080 with Sonar.
the drums sounds are outstanding and really gave my beats the thickness i was looking for, and the synth and synth bass sounds are great.
