Rockin' & Rollin'
Hello,
My name is Pete Pappavaselio, and I frequent the analog forum here. I am also a high school history teacher in the alternative program at Chelsea High School, in Chelsea, MA.

Many of my students are into rap and hip-hop, and some of them write music and have recorded in local studios. I would like to start a school program where I can teach them some of the basics and theory behind recording. I have some microphones, XLR cables, and other assorted equipment, but was curious if anyone had any audio equipment that they would be willing to donate to the school.

I am looking specifically for simple to use equipment, like Tascam 4-track Portastudios and perhaps some effects equipment. Maybe there are some people here who have since "graduated" to larger formats, and have equipment that is collecting dust.

I will happily pay for shipping, and believe I can acquire forms from the school so that you can deduct any donation you may consider making from your taxes.

Thank you for your time, and feel free to write here or PM me for further details, information, or with any questions you may have.

-Pete

Good for you. I teach at an inner city HS and have done the same. One of the biggest hits for our little music club has been the cheap-o turntables that I scrounged from Daddy's for $35...

one student loved the Gemini Mixer with a sampler so much that I let him buy it from me.
