Gone
This forum has almost died since the site got switched over to the new server.

I assure you that it still has life left...don't be shy! Plenty of people are sitting around waiting for that damn icon to light up!

That cracks me up. I've been thinking about making this same post for about a week now. :D

OK, I'll go -
What is the registration code for N-Track, I'm too lazy to get a job to make money for food and recording software, so any charity thrown my way is appreciated.

;)

Good thing I've seen some of your posts here before and know you're kidding! ;)

I've been involved in a discussion with some idiot at TalkBass over the stupidity of cracked software. I love confronting the "crackheads" about this just to see what kind of stupid rationale they come up with for using it. For some reason I find this gives me a lot for my entertainment dollar. :D

I read this forum every day, but I don't post too much, but I also get a kick out of hearing the crack heads!

It gets really bad during the summer when all the young folks are out of school.
FWIW, I DO have a job (a nice Software Engineering gig) which pays the rent/food/guitar strings/recording software/etc...

At the risk of sounding like the old man I am, I agree with you there. Based on the replies I've gotten from my new TalkBass buddy, I was apparently correct when I guessed he is a teenager.

DISCLAIMER:

I'm not implying that teenagers are the only ones who use cracked software. I was merely commenting on the attitude that was dripping from his replies. It's very hard to find someone over the age of 20 speaking like that. I've also come across people older than me that I engaged in this topic as well

I'm also in the software field, about 10 years in actual software engineering and another 7 managing computer systems. That's probably the biggest reason I come down on the crackheads so hard. They assume that it's OK to download illegal software just because it's easy, but they have absolutely no idea of what goes into developing good software, let alone maintaining it.

I'm starting to feel guilty for taking the thread off topic. :o

I'll try to come up with a legit question to keep our moderator happy.

Um...yeah...cracked software is bad...ahem...cough cough...

:)

(Disclaimer: while a lot can be implied from the above statement, I would never advocate the piracy of audio software like n-Track, Fruity Loops, etc. Real discussion about cracking n-Track will not be allowed in this forum!)

Shhh! It's the Fuzz! The Man! The Pigs! The Heat! The Law! :D

Not to worry. I don't use any cracked software and even if I did n-Track IS NOT software that should be cracked. I'm sure anybody who knows anything about the package and it's author would agree with that.
