I wanted to ask the board if there is a difference in latency, dropouts, etc. with switching from my Aardvark direct pro 2496 wmd drivers to the asio drivers supported in SONAR 2.2. I run a P4 1.8 windows XP system with 740 MB RDRAM and I still have dropouts with as little as 4-6 tracks on occasion as well as decent latency. I just need to know if the $80 upgrade is worth the effort

What's with the $80 upgrade? The Sonar 2.2 update is free! 
And personally I don't know what to think anymore. I've done plenty of test in the past, and it turns out that for me, WDM and ASIO are equally good.
There is no rule like "ASIO is better than WDM". That's up to the driver-developers...
