Apparently it's predecessor won some awards (although that doesn't mean much), but how would it stack up to the XDR pres in my Mackie mixer? I'm planning on doing vocals in a seperate room from my recording gear and using a 100 ft snake to connect everything. I hear that to get a cleaner signal through a long cable run you should amplify it before, rather than after, a long cable. I don't want to use the snake but there are only two rooms I can use in the house and unfortunately they aren't too close together. My computer makes way too much noise to even consider recording in the same room.
