Yes, i've used it. Actually, I think it's an awesome unit. The A/D converters are very smooth, and operation is easily figured out.

I also like the Art DI/O if your only requirement is, say, S/PDIF to a soundcard. It's essentially half a unit.

From what I understand, you can also bypass the pres via the insert and use it as an A/D converter. Have you tried this at all?

I've had great results with this unit---it appears that ART addressed issues with the earlier versions (both TPS and DPS). It offers you a lot of digital and analog flexibility and a lot of sound and level adjustments. The LoZ impedence matching control is a nice feature. You can download the manual at the ART website. I consider it a bargain and would buy another one if mine turned up missing.

I haven't used the "AD-only" feature (insert-in) but it is a 44.1-96 kHz unit. I've used it to send both ADAT and S/PDIF and it works great. By the way, the 1/4-in inputs (front panel, rear panel, and insert) offer you three different gain structures/options before AD conversion. It also has some handy ADAT options, including patching itself into the ADAT stream, between another ADAT unit and your recorder.

Thanks guys. I've heard from some people that the DPS pres are a bit bright or "brassy" sounding. Should I assume that this hasn't been your experience from both of your comments? Obviously, I have to go try one for myself ... but it helps to get some feedback first. :-)

Thanks deepwater, but I need something with digital outs.
