Hi Boys and girls

Ive got a PC running Cubase SX and a mixer (Behringer 1604A) with live audio into it.

My prob is that I want to monitor the source from the PC and be able to adjust the volume.

Basically Im going in to the PC (throught the main outs on the desk) via the line port and have it coming out to an effect channel. Problem is that when I turn the effect return up (it has separate send and return) ir records the playing (cubase played) tracks in addition to what Im putting in through the live audio channel.

Now the thing thats doing my head in is that no other channels on the mixer have the effect levels turned on.

Can anybody solve my problem? Pretty please :o

P.S. Ive tried through the dedicated tape in ports, the prob there is that I cant adjust the levels being lpayed out on the desk

Cheers for your help

Not familiar with your mixer but try routing the channel you call the effect channel to the submix 3/4 and send that to the control room or whatever the name of it is on your mixer. I think what you are doing is just creating a loop that ends up going to your mainouts which is why it is being recorded.

Hey cheers

 Alright NYM. Thanks for your help. Its now sorted. Time to go and start learning Cubase and Reason.
