Is possible to control STD1 drum set in a BR studio using my TD-3 drums. I want to cut a live track that way?. Not having to key in anything bar by bar and having it inserted in the drum loop track as one big saved pattern. Is is possible and if so how do I set up to start off?

Objective; Save a drum track played live on TD-3 as one big pattern and played back in drum loop.

This saves me from using up two tracks on my mixer and leaving me with 6 to work with.

Thanks.

First, you will need to be able to change the assignments of the midi notes in either the TD-3 or the BR Studio if you can't hear the drum sounds in the BR simply by plugging the midi out of the TD-3 into the midi in of the BR and setting them both to channel 10.

Since both products are from the Roland family this probably won't be a problem.

Then, if you're actually going to capture the subtleties of your drumming you'll need to record them with no quantizing at all.

I haven't used the Boss BR series for several years, but the last one I used had a limit to the length a single drum pattern could be --- if this is the case with yours, you will need to break the drum part up into chunks, like verse, chorus, bridge, etc.
