Alright. well I think it's now time to make use of my mixer, since I can't get the results that I want with out...but I CANT get it to work right still, I tihnk i'm just lost. haha.

My gear:
Delta 44
Behringer MX802a (i know, it blows).
BX5 monitors.
Reciever to power headphones (if needed).
DMP2
BLUETUBE PRE
BLUEMax Comp

Alright now, here's what i want.

I want the person recording to be able to hear himself as he sings, for example, in his headphones. (so, routing outs 1 and 2 to the mixer would work fine for this). But, I want to record using either my bluetube or dmp2 as the preamp, not the behringer. still, i tihnk this can work ok.
now, the problem comes when, say, I want to have mics going into the mixer, AND another preamp, AND I have the mixer stuff going through my compressor! hahaah. I just can't even see how all of this would work out ok.

Idealy, maybe I can even get a different mix set up for headphones and for my monitors..??? haha.

I mean, on the 802, I don't even see where I can put the computer's OUTS into? They go into, "2-track in/out"? What do I route the out to? I guess nothing, because I can use the main out, or the ctrl Room out??

too many optinos, and probably not enough cords...radio shack here i come.

anyway i digress. anyone can help me out? ha.

Can you be more specific about what you want to do? Give an EXACT scenario because usually you end up repatching for different situations.

Usually you plug the preamps into line inputs on the channel you want. Plug the compressors into the inserts. You can plug the computer outs into their own channels or use the tape input.

i mean, i definately know how to do basic recording....

but now i want to do this:

be able to control volumes, independantly, of headphones and my monitors.

I want (AT LEAST) the headphones to play what is currently being recorded, as well as what is being played back from the computer.

As for the monitors, all I need from there is to hear what's coming from the computer.

Shack,
