I cant really afford a old analogue synth or even a new digital one. But does anyone use a soft synth on their computer and if so what are the good ones and how good are they?
sondriven -- check out a related post on softsynths in the newbie forum from a couple days ago, it's got some other pertinent info in it. Check out Fruity Loops Pro -- it kicks an excessive amount of ass. tdukex is good to reccomend reality and reaktor...re-birth, Gigasampler, unity, etc...There's some DX/VST Plugs that can work too. What exactly are you aiming to do with it/what's the price range etc...? Are you using any other software?
Yeah, I have the Fruity Pro 3.0 and want to upgrade to the 404 FL. But waiting on the funds for that, but I really want a synth to produce long sweeps and stuff. In fruity I can lengthen a sample but it then changes the pitch and you cant change the key of the sample.
