Is there any need for a dedicated CD burner vs. going with a DVD/CD-R combination?
Thanks

Shouldn't be a problem. I've used both Pioneer and Plextor DVD/CD burners without any issues.

Thanks. It's good to hear/have options 'cause it's that time for a new one. :)

Might I suggest the Plextor 716?

I second that, it also includes Plex Tools software which is worth the price of the entire combo.

Stick with the silver ones though, the black ones absorb external radiation which can cause rotational imbalances causing ... , ah f*** I can't even continue with that one.

I have a silver 712 and a black 716, and I have to say the black 716 really adds the hotness :D

Sorry for not start a new thread but I think my question has something to do with this topic.
Is there any quality loss if I download mastered tracks and then burn my master CD-R. What I have to do it???. LG 52xCD burner and Nero 6. Any loss between do it myself or wait until the guy who master it send me his own CD-R.

Sorry again for the instrusion.

Assuming the transfer went without errors and it is a 44.1K 16 bit file that part should be fine. The quality loss is more likely to occur with a choice of poor CD-R media or a burner that isn't up to par.

I would wait for the master from the ME before sending it out to the duplication plant.

Ok, I´ll wait for the master CD-R.

Thanks

If the cost is not prohibitive, try your own, and see if you get different results. My cost for blank cd's is usually around 10cents a piece. If this is feasable, try it. If not, please dissregard.
