Archtop Question

In examples 1&2, the inside of the guitar is painted black.

I'm about to purchase a guitar where the inside is like example #3. It's just bare wood.

So my question is.. Can I do this myself? If so how? And how will it alter the sound, if at all?

Buy the guitar that feels best to you.

Most decent archtops DO NOT have the inside "painted" with anything. In fact I don't recall seeing one and I have seen a few..
