APSLive 1.84 E-Mixer routing for Revalver Live tips

Hi,
Here is my set up:
DURON 950
VIA KT133 + official PCI latency patch
SB live 5.1 with win 98 SE, APSLive! drivers ver 1.84.
Fender Blues Deluxe tube amp with cabinet unplugged, with preamp out plugged directly in the SBLive's line input.

I spent the whole night trying to figure out how to route the sound inside this darn computer to get it sound, and still no convincing results...

does anyone know how to configure the E-Mixer together with ReValver Live so that you can mute the line in sound from the overall mix and get the processed output right?

If I got it Right, the signal routing's a bit complicated using those drivers: if you want to record a sound through line in, you need an input strip set up on A1 or A2 physical port In the E-Mixer.
then in revalver you set the input on APS wave in (wich collects the signal going out on the master channel of the E-mixer), the output on APS wave out.

here comes the tricky part of it: the revalver's processed output is injected in the "Wave" input strip of the mixer! thus summing up with the dry input, and everything gets back into revalver for processing via the APS wave in (as viewed from the revalver live config pannel)... this means immediate feedback.

last thing: I can't figure out how the cross mixer works, is it a replacement for the E-Mixer, or an extra source management feature?

A bit of help would be welcome!

i'm not up on the drivers you are using......when Revalver came out I believe it was using ASIO for the Live feature....i gave up on playing Revalver like that...so i don't know if it will work...i'd check the Alien Connections website on this one....i have been able to play Revalver as a plug in with Sonar using WDM drivers for a Delta 66...latency rivals hardware digital guitar processors....i can record tracks with Revalver and all that......there are WDM drivers for the SBLive 5.1....however, i don't know of anything but Sonar than can take advantage of WDM for ultra low latency , right now....but if you are looking to record guitar check this out : http://www.line6.com/guitarport/Tour-1/Tour-4-Tone-AmpModels/tour-4-tone-ampmodels.html
hasn't been released yet...i'm waiting to try one out to see how well it works with audio sequencers....should definitely allow you to jam with virtual amps on any modern pc.

I need help with this too.

I'm using the APS 1.84 on a SBLive Value running Logic Audio Platinum 4.7. Not by choice, may I add. My Delta 1010 got fried so I've been forced to use my sblive as a backup.

Anyway. At first I was using the CrossMixer that came with the APS Live package and I wasn't able to set separate levels for recording and monitoring. My overdub monitoring was really loud and when I turned it down I would get a really low recorded signal. So I downloaded CrosStudio Mixer 3.1 which is an update of the one that comes with the APSLive package (you can find the link on the come.to/sblive page.) This is a little different. It seems to be easier to control the outputs and it has a nicer interface but I have no idea how to select the recording source and levels with it.

What I managed to do is select the recording source and level from the E-mu Mixer, and adjust the monitoring level with the CrosStudio Mixer. Voila, exactly what I wanted to do!

BUT

It only works with the line-in (analog inputs A1+A2.) I haven't been able to record from the mic input, which is what I need to do. (My Roland JV-1010 is connected to the line-in) I've tried A1-A4 but I can't get a signal. I can hear it, but my recording software doesn't.

I tried posting on the newsgroup but I can't get my MS-Outlook to work properly.

Please post any info you find here.

Thanks.

I have used the APSLive drive for a while. I never use the crossstudio mixer and just rely on the E-Mixer. So to answer schnoops' question...I don't think you need to touch the crossstudio mixer, I believe its just an alternative. As for your problem with the feedback.....I think you can fix this by clicking on the little recording volume dial. It probably says MIX under it right now. If you select that and change the recording inputs to just the analog inputs (A1 +A2) then you shouldn't get the feedback. Any wav (ie prerecorded tracks) will playback when you record but only the input in A1+A2 will be recorded to the new track.

I hope this helps...I don't have the mixer in front of me so this is from memory.

Using the APS mixer I can't seem to control the volume of any of the analog inputs. Moving the faders for A1 and A2 has no effect. Although I am able to control the line-in volume using the CrosStudio Mixer.

And how about the mic input? I was assuming that it's analog input A3 but I can't seem to record from it. I've tried all the other A inputs but still can't get a signal into my software. Although A1+A2 (line-in) record fine.
