When you are mixing, and you are going to convert all midi files to audio anyway so that they can be burnt to cd or encoded to mp3 or whatever - is it better to apply effects/eq etc. to the midi files before conversion to audio or to get it all into audio first and then deal with it all together? Or is it just a matter of personal preference? It seems to me that once the material is in audio format, you can do a lot more with it - I know in CWGS some midi files won't even accept the application of effects such as chorus or reverb... and there don't seem to be as many effects available anyway...
