Apply trimming

Hi,

In the list events there are a lot of duplicate data in the same track. All of them are embedded in different clips in this track.

I must use the option "Edit - apply trimming" to make HS clean up unused clips in the track.

When we manipulate clips do we have always to apply trimming ?

Is this possible to avoid the "clip reproduction" of himself ?

And also,

Is somebody actually tried to call a Cal program from a midi key instead of a keyboard key ?

if you have actual duplicate data (i'm assuming this is midi, but it doesn't have to be) then either your keyboard is sending echo notes or you are pasting over existing clips.

otherwise,

you have layered clips containing different notes.

most times when i'm putting together a drum beat (midi) i'll add more sounds to the existing track and i end up with many clips. once i'm done and i want to play around with different sounds for the different drum parts, i'll do the trimming thing, then call a split-note CAL script to separate the drum notes into separate tracks.

Along these same lines, is there a way to do something like "Send To Back" on a clip? Sometimes, if I have a clip on top of a clip, it's a real pain for me to see the clip underneath, unless there's a piece of it sticking out somewhere that I can click on. Anyone know of a quick way to do this?

Thanks,

Hi crosstudio,

And I guess there is no setting to avoid the stacking of the clips? Could we not only crush the actual clip with the last one ?

About the midi shortcut; a shifting midi key initiate the binding of the midi key shortcut.

Example: B0 (As a shifting key) + C1 (as the binding key to a cal program)

A very powerfull method to work with cal

I don't think so. Not that I'm aware of anyway. Sonar automaticly creates a new clip for a new take...

Hey crosstudio

How do you do that where you then separate the notes in a midi drum track to separate tracks?!! I would love to be able to do this without having to cut and paste each note....

And if you want more, just put "cakewalk" and "CAL" in your favourite search engine, and hit search... :)
