Apex 471 tube microphone

I tried this out on saxophone today and it sounded warmer and smoother than my Sennheiser MD421. I don't think it's as good as the APEX 460 though, does anyone know what this mic is based on? It has a 6J1B tube which is wired right to the pcb so changing it out would be pretty hard.

There is an earlier model as well, the Apex 470. I'm curious to hear how it sounds. Can you post some audio? The 470/471 are SDC tube mics that can take omni or cardoid capsules. Quite different from the Apex 460 which is an LDC with selectable patterns.
