Has anyone had a chance to check out the Apex 420? If you have, what other mics were you able to compare it to? My second question is, which do you prefer and why...the Rode NTV or the Rode NTK. Thanks!

I have a 420. I think it's a little over hyped in the high end. IMHO.

I have a Apex 430 (not 420, but almost the same minus multi pattern and rolloff) as well as a Rode NT-2, AT 4033, several other small diaphragm condensors. The NT-2 is far better than the 430 IMO. Sounds much smoother and more real on all the vocals I have tracked with it.
