Still noodling, or are you gonna man up here? :) :) Thanks for listening to all these great players; I've had a great time laying down the foundation for them!

good story and singing 60's guy. enjoyed it. nice job.

my only nitpick is that the vocal track sounds very sizzly.

Thanks Travis! :)

Sizzly, eh? I'll take another look and listen to it and see if I can re EQ it.

Out of curiosity.....what are you listening through? Headphones....monitors?

listening thru monitors here. these things seem pretty sensitive to any excess in the upper mids.

If you're interested in sending me your vox and piano tracks, I'll see what I can do... :)

I focused on keeping the frenetic deal tamed.

And redid this mix.

I think this is the most clam-free of the three... :D

I dunno; I don't think the two at a time thing is working, it sounds like two good-playng guys battling for ear time at the music store; you can't really wrap your ears around either of them... I think in the case of this groove, perhaps less is more.. I hear good things in both, but they fight with each other too much.

Perhaps if you nail one really good one, then harmonize parts of it with the other part? But stay sparse; this grooved is perhaps served best by not being filled to the brim with notes, even if they are good ones... :)

I guess I'm hearing a coordination between the two tracks where you hear only a fistfight. :D

Thanks for your honest appraisal.

That's what the clinic is about!

Agreed. I'm interested to hear what others think of your approach; I suspect my opinion will be in the minority... :)

Something different... :D

Been real busy, so I put up a Pass/Ellis arrangement of a blues in G on the music stand today, read through it a couple times then tracked this rendition, hesitations and all :o . If I have a bit more time I may do a couple alterations to make it fit the harmony and track it on an electric over your backing Phil.

The only thing that doesn't fit the progression entirely right now is the turn, I did the circle of 5ths path instead of a standard turn.. but yours is very close to fitting anyway...

Love your thing though! Can't wait to hear what you do!

60's guy sent me his piano and vox tracks, so I'm gonna mix up one with that to see how it works out..
