Wicked! Heavier and brawny! and the clean stuff is fun too! You experimented with a lot of fun styles! You and Travis should battle! :)

Hey, thanks man....yeah I was using my Strat, and changed the pickup settings during the "clean" part....That was a really cool groove, and I could probaly come up with more melodic parts if I mapped it out more....just wanted to imrovise tho' and play off the top of my head...great practice!
Thanks for sharing this!!

No problem, my pleasure. I'm excited to hear all this good soloing, and knowing that the progression is providing some challenges!

Not that I know much about it, but you might be able to draw some hints on leading the progression from the bass line, especially how the chromatic passing tones drop you into each chord on the turn...

drstawl i like your playing but it sounds like your track got misaligned.

Yeah, by about 20ms... Nice and funky though!!! Especially about 1:10...

nice stuff F_cksia. i particularly like the organ.

Ohhhh, yeah, baybay!!!! LOVE the low register work on the piano! And I didn't know you could channel Dr. John... And Alvin the chipmunk! Well done, sir!!

HA! I tried a 100msec correction and it seemed to straighten right up! :)

But when one plays this sloppy to begin with who knows if it's the latency on the soundcard or the plucker!

Travis and variaxman - man, you guys both play with a really great jazz feel.

Super cool feel to it, delay or no. Yeah, that's hot.
You are too kind.

I've heard your stuff....

But I couldn't let this slop go.

I rerecorded as well as re-aligned the track with a dizzy stereo effect from
2 associated leads in L and R channels doing a staccato machine gun across the field with syncopated 16ths.

Cool! Good ideas; got a little busy at times, but I like the idea a lot!!

Great job, guys. I'm not ready to jump in, but this is an enjoyable thread.

Llarion,
This tune makes me smile! :) All you guys have done a great job by posting your additions.

I've have a lyrical idea in mind and it's also a great opportunity to break out my archtop.

I finished writing the lyrics tonight. It's a silly tale about a man having to choose between going fishing or waiting for his wife to wake up.

Phil,

In all seriousness, this chord progression and all that you recorded is excellent!

I'm hoping to record the vocal tonight and then record some guitar and keyboards tomorrow.

I hope you plan on grabbing on to some of the great additions that have been posted so far and perpare a final mix.

:)

Llarion,
Very tastie backing track. It's drawn out some lovely work from all contributors. There's an LPs worth of melodies if nought else.
Are you going to put together a definitive track or leave it to the assorted imaginations.

Ray,

I hadn't thought about it, but if people want to send me they original bare tracks, I think it'd be fun to put something together!

Can't wait to hear 60's guy's vocal tonight... (can't from work)

I recorded a vocal and a piano. :o

G Blues

DUDE!

Randy, that is wonderful... A little Michael Franks, a little Randy Newman, a little John Sebastian... Subtle, dripping with cool, sublime; you knew just where to leave the holes! I'm thoroughly impressed!!!!
