If so, what software are you using?

Can you use all 24 channels simultaneously?

Are you using a mixing console or plugging directly into your recorder?

Any info regarding this subject will be appreciated.

This idea almost seems redundant. Both systems are hard drive based systems, and the HD24 has ethernet capabilities and will use FTP to transfer tracks between the computer and the HD24. I am about ready to set up a friends studio to do just that.

I would be shocked if the A/D converters on the HD24 weren't AT LEAST as good as anything MOTU puts out, and they might even be a bit better. But that is speculation as I haven't really heard either converters side by side.

With the HD24's ease of use, it would seem that you could ditch your MOTU and install a network card to transfer tracks. The HD24's manual says that 4 minutes of 24 tracks would take about 16 minutes to transfer to the computer. Considering that the computer wouldn't need high throughput to do that, that would seem a viable option for getting tracks to the computer without having to have a super computer that can record 24 tracks at once.

Just some stuff to think about.

Good luck.
