Hi there, I'm looking for info on how to operate a Bokse SM-1 (SMPTE to MIDI Computer) or even a manual...

Has anyone even heard of this Bokse SM-1 ot Bokse at all?

I can generate code and adjust frame rates etc..., I can hear code out the SMPTE output, I can get it to read SMPTE but there is a slight lag and I'm not sure on the procedure for adjusting the offset.

I can't get it to communicate with the computer through midi, I'm not very up to speed on MTC so this is a bit of a grey area for me.

The closest I've come is running a midi cable out from the PC into the SM-1 and another cable out from the SM-1 in the PC. when I sey nuendo to external sync, its says "lock 25" (the framerate) and will play. If I unplug either cable it stops playing, but there is no code coming out the SMPTE output of the SM-1 while it does this. Also if I input SMPTE to the SM-1, no MTC comes out the midi outputs.

I run Nuendo 2 on the PC but I just bought an old Tascam MSR-16 and want to be able to sync it to the computer.

Someone suggested using a software midi analyzer to check the output of the SM-1, but I don't think I have one, can anyone suggest a software midi analyzer?

Any help will be very much appreciated.

Cheers...

okay forget it, it doesn't do MTC only midi clock

thanks for looking

Here's a link to a great freeware software midi analyzer called MidiOx. It will do what you need and more. Sorry for the delay in replying...
