Hey folks. I bought a studio projects xlr cable on a recommendation. I was wondering if there is a noticeabe difference between it and regular cable. I liked the way it looked plus i have a spc1 so i thought it would look cool together(pretty dumn reason!) I got it cheap tho so it was a bargain.

I use a Yorkville XLR cable for my AT3035 now...before this, i used some Apex one...and god, it sucked. it picked up hum very readily. now, i get no hum or noise whatsoever. a better cable can give you a clean sound.

Sounds like i made a good choice! I've never had problems with hum or anything. Just tryin to get a cleaner sound. I have one more question. I've narrowed my choice of pres down to two:

M-audio dmp3
or
mackie 1202 vlz pro mixer

I wanted to know if the pres on the mixer are as clean as the dmp3. If that's the case, i'll just swap my behringer mixer for the mackie because i'm usin the behringer for the pres and audio routing to my monitors. No need to get the standalone dmp3 if i can get the same quality out of the mackie and have more channels.

Umm...they sound the same to me..i would get the mixer if i had the money because
you are pretty limited by getting just a stand alone preamp.

The DMP3 is noticeably better than the behringer mixers. I mean, it stands to reason. The DMP3 is $75 per pre and the mixer is, what, probably $20?
