I do use it and it's quite nice, indeed. I prefer others like BFD 1 and 2 or the Toontrack programs when it comes to the actual sound of the acoustic samples but AD is still very well-thought out and stable. If you're looking to buy a new drum module I would demo AD and take a look at BFD2 and the upcoming DFHS 2, it looks promising!

Personally I think Addictive Drums blows EZDrummer out of the water. BFD is basically in an entirely different league in terms of the extensiveness of the sample library, so there's no point comparing them... most likely a big difference pricewise also...

I have and use it alot. For straight Rock/Pop stuff, I think it have very useable sounds. I think it also has great beats built in. Lots of subtle hits and things I wouldn't think to put in manually.

Drums from hell is too much work, but sounds good

EZDrummer is much easier than DFH, but doesnt sound as good.

BFD sounds great, but (for me) is alot of work to get it to sound the way I want.

AD has less as far as sounds (about 5 kits and not much as far as hand percussion) but they sound great as is. For someone like me that wants to spend less time on engineering/mixing, and more time for writing/producing it works out for my songs.

and it sounds great.. IMO.

here is a little song I whipped together for a song my daughter (11) wrote with her friend. The drums to over all about thirty minutes. I used all built in beats from AD and just tweaked some of the fills.

Granted, its a little on the cheeze side, but the drums sounds great with little effort.

Addictive drums is the bomb!

Even if you dont have a midi-controller to map out your own beats, all the stock beats are great and totally usable. And the samples are hands down. I would recommend the demo highly, then youll wanna get your hands on a copy for sure. Ima newb at this stuff still, and i find it really easy to get around and either create my own drum kit from scratch, or add my own eq/comp/fx to each and every drum independently.

absolutely AD....it sounds so real! ;) I map out my own beats in my DAW and it works great.

AD is what I use... now I need some "Pads" as my midi KB is just not great for drummin'
