Anyone know what this pedal does?

A friend gave me this pedal (MXR JUINOR) a few years ago because he said it didn't work. I was digging through some boxes the other day and found it, haven't been able to get it to do anything but i was just curious if anyone knows what it does. I could be way off but my guess is that its some sort of metronome in pedal form.
It has knobs for Tempo, Voice and Level on the front. The jacks on the back are Input, Output and trigger. Any ideas?

That last jack - "trigger" - makes it sound as if it's a midi pedal used to trigger a midi device.
Is the trigger jack a midi type connector?
The other knobs allow you to adjust adjust input and output levels, but I'm not sure what the "tempo" knob is for?

I dunno, that's what it looks like to me.
 
Still not sure what it does

I wonder if this "rare" device can make me any cash lol. Still not sure what it does but it would be cool if it was worth some cash. The trigger jack is 1/4inch not a midi by the way. Thanks for the help guys.
