Flailing up a storm.
Been trying this out for fun and variety, and i like it, but Reaper will not play out of the first set of outputs on my layla 24/96. Works fine in other apps. I searched and posted on their forums as well, but no response yet.

When I look at preferences/audio/device all the outputs (8analog, 2 digital) are there, but when i try to send the mains, or any track to 1 and 2 they are just not there. In Preferences/Audio/output aliasing, the first outputs are listed as 3/4.

Anyone have any ideas?

thanks,
daav

This same situation came up before. I cant remember the resolution or where it was posted. Ill check around

Back in the day, Echo let windows heist the 1/2 and spdif I/O, including even volume and sample rate.

Can you show me a picture of windows\control panel\sounds and audio devices\audio ?

Use www.stashbox.org or something to host the picture

Thanks for the help!
They show the layla 1 + 2 analog out being used for playback. Nothing has changed there, other apps (Cubase, N-Track) didn't seem to have a problem.
I have a partition and boot just for recording, so i suppose i don't need to use them for default windows playback, but it would be nice to not have to separate.

Thanks,

usually I send the onboard whatever soundcard to be used by windows, but it still might be ok...are you using echo's asio drivers in reaper?

OK, so the problem was that with windows set to use output 1 and 2 reaper couldn't 'grab' the outputs for some reason. Kind of a pain, since i don't have the same problem in cubase, but once, i know, i can adjust.

I don't know Reaper, but I don't fear it, either.
