I haven't heard them but you can read a brief user review and some other comments here.

3 months after I began this thread... has anyone heard these monitors NOW? Im really curious as I know the original BX8's were pretty good, and these look sexy as hell...

anyone got a link where i can read a review or something?

I just got a pair

I just picked a pair up...
I'll let you know when I get them up and running...

Omg!

I've been using the Alesis Monitor One MKII's for about a year...
I just picked these up today and Whoa!
The sound has so much more clarity with the Bx8a s...
I was very impressed with the tightness of the sound...
The highs and lows were crisp and clear - But seemed much smoother than the MKIIs...
And the stereo imaging is amazing...

My suggestion is get them... NOW...
Very nice monitors..

Don't get me wrong - the MKIIs are great...
I love them as well.. I'm going to use them for synth programming and use the M-Audios for mixing... But, the Bx8ax are excellent and sound spectacular...

Hope this helps...

I have a pair of BX8a's. I listened to a lot of different monitors. The BX8a's are tight, very good sound reproduction from low bass to high frequencies. No these are not super high end monitors. They are a very good speaker for a small or home studio! I have had them for about three months now with no problems.

i have the bx5a's, which sound fantastic and will sound even better with a sub. Unfortunately i cant compare them to the old bx5's. i havent heard either of the 8" models, but ive heard great things.
