Does anyone who possesses an archive of drum wave files happen to have a nice "death metal", "tick"y accoustic drum sample I can use with my sequencer? If you need an mp3 example of the drum tone I am referring to I can provide an mp3 or link.

Thanks!!

P.S. I could use a good china sample as well!

Do you have a Sampler?

If so, I'm going to tell you how to get the best kick drum sample that you'll ever hear.

Aim a Condenser mic at a concrete floor, and sample a BASKETBALL hitting it!

That is the best damned kick sound around man!

My old singer (he died 2 years ago) and I spent hours making all these drum samples (That was in the mid-late 90's), and that was one of my secrets.
Unfortunately, I didn't have a sampler at the time, and didn't get copies of the samples.

Another good one, was we used a Shotgun mic to sample 2 trains locking up in a train yard. Then compressed and gated it, and that was the fattest damn snare sound ever. We're talking HUGE explosive sound!

We recorded sounds on a DAT machine, and then sampled from the DAT machine.

I really do need to get back into that stuff, because it's a lot of fun coming up with these sounds.
