Any good?

It is going into a heavy rock song, which I will post once Ive mixed the vox in.
Cheers all.

I could work with that no problem as far as the sound. The singing sounds good (here comes the but) >>>>>>>>>>>> but, the words are running together. On the dry track there are alot of words I can't make out. The singing is very good and the tracking sounds good to. The pronunciation needs work though. A little effort at finishing the words stronger before moving to the next word would help. The ending consonats on some of the words are not getting their full due. They help break up the words.

Just my toughts. I am sure compression would help some, but I don't see it as a magic bullit in this case.

The vocals will sound good either way treated right but in the current form I don't think listeners will be able to understand what is being said in several places.

Just my thoughts. And nirvana did just fine ;)

PS: It is hard to think of pronunciation as part of the performance but on some songs you have to force your self to keep it in mind, at least for recording.

Yeah the quality sounds good, but I have no idea what you said.

I agree that the words could be more pronounced, ill say to our singer for the other songs to pronounce more but I cant see us retracking the oter songs.
Cheers all.

If that's the case I think you are making a big mistake not retacking. I don't know who has the call on this, but if it was me (in the band) I sure would.
You really start to hate the shortcuts you took a few months or years down the road. The fact it's getting released would cinch it for me. Do the words "one chance" mean anything.

This mix needs to hit the ears of people who don't know the music for a critique of the vocals imho.

This is in no way a hit on your tracking or mixing ;)

Yeah I think you are totally right. I am at the point of just wanting to get it finished, but I would prob look back on it and go, dang you know Freudian was soooo right. :)

Bah, Ill speak to the singer and persuade him to redo the tracks. I suppose it wont take to long, We got 4 songs done in 1 night last night.

Peace,
Eck
