Anyone Familiar With Old School Effects

I was given to me an OLD TEAC AX - 10 Sound on Sound & Stereo Echo Unit today ... i have no clue what year this is , I am guessing 80s ... I dont even know if it works because I wouldnt know how to hook it up ... Could anyone help me out?

I've never seen one of those. Didn't know Teac ever made one.

I thought that stuff was pretty much history by the 80's? I worked with EchoPlexes and Space Echos and Unisonics in the 70's.

There's usually just an in and an out - maybe two outs for dry or wet. Controls for mix, speed, and number of repeats.

The tape is going to be your big challenge - probably need an owner's manual if there isn't a tape in it. If there is, make sure you know EXACTLY how it's in there, because they need to be replaced every 6 months or so. If it's a cartridge (like the Unisonic), start looking now for a place to buy them - you may very well wind up having to "build your own".
