Man I have tried and tried but cannot come up with a way to make the 3.1b patch work. Everytime I launch a track with the mute/un-mute button the thing stalls out. Same file that worked in 3.0 is having problems in 3.1b. Actually any button will or screen touch with the mouse can cause the problem. I would say its the resources but the meters at 68% usage and disk at 4%.

Thought it might be the UAD1 card but I turned it off and same problem. Then I turned off all the Sonitus effects, no go.

Changed the graphics driver, nadda.

There is some type of audio engine problem introduced in this latest rev. Guess I'll have to wait until they solve it.

Any Aud.ini gurus out there?

Man, I am such a whoose. I do not want to deal with this...stuff.
There are so damned many things that have to go RIGHT just for this magic to work.
I Just want to push >play.

i haven't had problems but i don't use sonar for 20-40 track mixes with plug-ins galour so maybe thats why...dare i say it i think it might be a lil more stable

might be, because i have a "true" multiprocessor system...*shrug...

I have'nt had any problems at all,but there's a major thread at Cakewalks Sonar forum dealing with these issues.

Have you tried to delete the aud.ini file and then start SONAR again???? (SONAR then makes a new aud.ini file)

Thanks for the suggestions everyone. Tried them all and still no go. It's a load issue in the engine. I have seen others at the Sonar forum at Cakewalk.com have the same issue.

One person suggested taking Windows off Backround and putting on Programs focus. This is contrary to some prior information I had heard about tweaking for Windows XP and so I may give that a shot. However, I'm pretty sure Cakewalk will be issuing another patch soon.

I was actually having problems setting my Delta 1010 to 48/24 in 3.0 until I upgraded to 3.1.

I did a session over the weeknd and aside from me not really knowing what I was doing with it (only have had it for two weeks) it worked fine.

I have seen a similar problem with the 3.1 patch on my machine.

One thing I noticed was that Norton Antivirus was using a whole bunch of the CPU whenever I ran Sonar... I ended up uninstalling it.

Mine was hanging whenever it was doing an autosave. I turned that off and now save manually after edits etc... and have not had a hang since.

What?

There is three ways of inserting DXi's:
1) Use the DXi Window

2) Go to Insert -> DXi Synth

3) Insert it in an audiotracks effect field.

:)

yea i can only do it using the DXI window thingy, i can't do insert DXI on an audio track

i've never tried method 3, i don't think i know how to do it come to think of it

I still don't understand what you mean. Are you talking about using the DXis in the FX field?

you know when you right click on the audio track in the FX field you'll see...Audio efx(or something like that) and DXI synth's well the DXI synth portion is unselectable for me....thus i can't insert dxi's doing method number 3 or 2 that you posted...1 works fine
