Anyone care to critique this one?

Well, listening at work I can only turn it up so much, but I like what I hear at "work volume" and will check this out again at home tonight. But, what comes to mind is if John Lennon was still around and formed a band, it might sound something like this.

awesome!!!
anything bothering you about the mix...anything to clean it up more?

You listen to Supergrass by any chance? Sure sounds like it. :)

Good job, I like this. Mix works for the song.

I listened to both tunes posted. The thing I can't get past is that the instruments seem to lack 'attack'. Not much punch, crunch......back-groundie...not in my face or teeth...like it oughta be. Not dynamic, strong,...no transients. Even unison parst seem to moosh instead of push. I don't know why that is.

I'll check out supergrass....never heard them

Perhaps I my compressors attack's are grabbing to soon?

Very unusual and yeah kind of a supergrass feel

As comented there was a sort of flat feel to some of the instruemnts but actually it kind of works for me with the style
not a lot of low end that I could make out. If there was a bass then it wasn't done justice in the mix

I don't hear John Lennon. I don't hear Supergrass. I hear Sonic Youth.

It's cool. A little untamed, but pretty cool.

Supergrass in the tempo & chords & a little in the melody.
Sonic Youth in the effected vocals, trem guitar & lo fi ness.
Everything is a little squished & washed out - I'd expect this song to burst out of the current sound into a fuller one after a verse.
I don't know what happened - start by removing all compressors & adjusting volume properly & check you master EQ etc.
There's something really cool happening but it seems like you want to keep it secret.
