Rode's web site states their new NT2A is a follow up to their NT2. The NT2 seemed to have got mixed reviews all around. The NT2A has their new capsule, the HF1. It is the same one used in the NT2000 and K2 models. The NT2A seems to be a budget NT2000 where the NT2000 has a variable pickup pattern the NT2A has a fixed pickup pattern selector.
I was wondering if anyone has picked up one of these babies and put it threw some paces? Do the NT2A, NT2000 and K2 sound similar?
By some slim chance has anyone ever compared the NT1000 to the NT2A?

Any thoughts would be great.

thanks,
Bob

No owner/users of Rodes new NT2A mic? Be nice to hear what you think of it.

Try a search...

Sorry, don't have any experience with the NT2A.

But try a search here on the forums...

Keep an eye out for the Rode NT2-A. Very affordable, very quiet, nice features, and without that 11kHz peak that earlier Rode's may have had. I'm reviewing it this month for Pro Audio Review, for what is supposed to be a January article.

Beginning with the the NT1000 or NTK, Rode has really stepped up to the table.

Rode has begun removing that 11 kHz peak. You can hear it (or not hear it) in the new NT2000 and NT2-A. Both of which are smoother than previous Rodes. The NT2-A lists for $699. Don't know what it streets for, but I'm very impressed so far.

That's all I'm sayin'. I have to save some for the review I'm doing or the publisher will wonder why they're paying me for "old news.

If you don't know who Ty is, then try a search on r.a.p. or check out his homepage.

Hope this helps,

i just got a new nt2a and it is my favorite new mic on my voice. i havn't had a chance to try it out on many people yet, and i've never heard a 1000.
for me it seems just the thing

mics i have used on my voice in the past
4040
mk319
4030
(no budget)

I never did get one. I ended up with an AKG C2000B. Works just fine for my vocals.
