Disappearing audio -- I mean, you can see that the tracks are all there -- no track or bus is soloed or muted -- yet you hear nothing at all....

And you have been working away happily for hours.....

Sometimes, I can get Sonar to respond by selecting all of the tracks, archiving them all, unarchiving them, soloing them and unsoloing them. Then I mute, archive and hide the ones I don't need and sometimes it works.

Other times it requires a reboot for it to come back to reality...

I had this a bit with Sonar 2.2XL and it seems to be a little more frequent with S3PE => although I am probably pushing it harder. ASIO or WDM drivers seem much or a muchness.

Anyone else had similar experiences?

Q.

thats a yes for audio and also for midi in 2.2 XL . I never had the problem with 2.0 XL. Occasionaly it loses midi routing in a channel. I have to reset the input on the channel that loses it.

That happens to me when I use B4. Annoying! :(

I have to use a generic b3 sample to cut the midi track to feed the b4 , including all of the controller events for the track and add the B4 when I`m finished, bounce it to an audio track, then remove the B4. If I save the B4 in the file, it will crash Sonar on the next open of the file unless I"shift and open all but the B4. But i`m not complaining, what would I do without Sonar? :)

I'm glad it's not only me...

But back to your problem. Have you downloaded the latest updates?

yes, but i had the same problem back with 2.0. The fix then was reinstall Sonar after I had B4. Probably the same thing is needed since I`m at 2.2 but I haven`t taken the time to do it yet to see if it fixes it.

It will probably go away when you have installed Sonar 3... ;)

Yep... thought I was the only one... since I haven't seen it posted until now.

I'm using an ASIO driver for a MOTU 24i/o. I just go Options-->Audio-->ASIO and then return to the project with working audio. This only takes a second and it refreshes the link between S3 and the sound card driver.

If you're using WDM drivers, Options-->Audio-->Wave Profiler ought to do the trick, without having to restart Sonar or reboot your system.

Does this help?
