Any tascam us-122 users had this issue?

There is a common error gotten in win ME when one adds new hardware, especially soundcards.

it is an error with cmdninst.exe at start up that won't let you get past it to load windows!

I had some earlier tascam problems and uninstalled all audio information to start from scratch.

The drivers are loaded, but whenever i go and plug the USB cord in, I get the error.......

Anyone else get this? Anyone who is using win ME?

I might upgrade windows, the problem is ONLY in windows ME, but xp is expensive!

Let me know - I have found info on the internet, but even microsoft info basically says to just upgrade drivers, which there are none.
 
I should mention I've done everything I can think of

1. windows update
2. drivers for other windows versions
3. tascam "help"
4. windows help
 
welp - it appears i have the w32.pinfi virus!

funny - even microsofts own advice about the cmdnsinst provlem NEVER mentioned any viruses causing it.

well this should solve it i assume. updates. later
