I've used the M-Audio Audiophile and Delta 410 and they are fine choices. Rocksolid stability.
Next week I'll receive an Echo Mia that's going to replace the 410 (the Mia has balanced analog io) and I'm sure I'll be happy with it too. All are pretty basic and affordable cards but they're all capable of doing 24/96.

Definately check out the M-Audio cards as mentioned. They're affordable, do 24/96, and are rocksolid.
