Any "Stick" players in the house?

Just curious, I'd love to talk to some actual players about the learning process, and what kind of instrument they transitioned from. I'm not sure if I'll take the plunge and order one, but I like to think about it....maybe someday.
 
I have tried to play one a few times, and I suck but I record lots of stick players. I have seen very few players that actually master the stick. The tuning and lay out of the instrument tends to force people into a certain vocabulary.

Another cool "touch style" instrument that I actually like better is the Warr Guitar. I think its more flexible and an easier transition from guitar http://www.warrguitars.com/

Yeah, thanks for that link. I have seen one of those before, but I had never seen one being played. I wasn't sure if players approached them with the tapping style similar to a stick or a more traditional approach. Looks like fun!
