Any other string things?

Great to see all the instruments people are into.

As an aside, I got a Korg chromatic tuner and a little Korg clip on contact mic for the dulc. Tried it on the EJ200 with my guit tuner (also Korg) and it worked amazing. This mic was like 10 bucks, apparently works with all Korg tuners. Highly recommended.

By the way Brumus...nice and unusual guitar. I love the look of the seperated(individualized) bridge?saddle?

I see no knobs or switches however...or PUs...are the PU cleverly digused within the bridge/saddle?...tell me more.

yes shes a beaut.....a handmade Swiss instrument constructed of pear tree and ebony. solidbody nylon string electric stereo/polyphonic guitar,
with independent piezos on each saddle, plus a Polysubbass controller which prioritizes the bass strings' outputs and drops the lowest note 2 octaves. the PSB also has a 13-pin GK out which can drive a midi converter into a synth module. Built by Rolf Spuler in Switzerland - not making this headless design anymore, so this is only one of 3 i know of in the States. this one is signed by the luthier and has a spare umbilical (Nuetrik circular), the original padded bag with logo, strap, stand, and a flight case.

another cool feature of this instrument - besides the sound, which is infinately adjustable since you are processing each strings outputs separately - is the extra two frets at the nut end on the low E string; it has a spring-loaded post which hooks the E string so it is nutted at the normal fret below the open note "E". When unhooked, the open note is two frets lower, the note "D", as if you detuned your low E to 'drop D'. The difference btwn this truly open note D and a drop D tuning is all your chord fingerings remain the same, plus you get these two mini frets on the low E for the playable notes of D and Eb...super cool for any song in the key of D.

sorry for the long explanation, theres just so much to this guitar, it goes on and on..signal path: umbilical cable goes into the PSB, then each strings output goes into a Rane SM82, where i set volume, pan, and reverb for each string, and the mono out goes into a Digitech 2120, for a little sizzle now and then, the stereo output goes to the board, the monitoring is done in-ear with the rest of the monitor mix. sometimes the GK drives an Axon into a JV2080 synth for huge orchestra on the 3 bass strings, and harplike or other sounds from the treble strings.

I assume tuning is done somewhere in the bridge. The D extension has been around for awhile, Kubiki did that with The Factor, God, gotta be at least 20 years ago. Steve Earle's bassist had a couple, and that tour was 89. Neat feature.
