Hi Peeps,

After saving up my funds i realised i can only afford the Presonus Firebox unlike the firepod which i was intending to get. I will only need 2 maximum inputs for when i make my music, i was wanting the firepod for when i record bands etc, but obviously that cant happen anymore :(.

So does anyone use the firebox? Anyone recommend it? Are the preamps good? etc etc. Id love to hear some reviews on it, preferbally good ones :D

Thanks!

Chris

I've had mine for a month I guess and I have had no problems so far. The pres sound good compared to my Zoom MRS 1044. The Firebox will do 4 inputs at a time. I have recorded drums putting kick, snare, toms on their own tracks and using the last one for single overhead. I use a Soundcraft Compact 10 mixer to submix the toms and for the preamps because the Firebox has only two preamps. Even with the crappy mics I have I can get decent results. I just ordered some drum mics so in a couple of weeks my band is going to record a few songs to see what my studio can do.
The Cubase LE that comes with it does a fine job for my needs. I was using a not so legal Cubase SX which has been deleted from my system. I really didn't use it much just kinda checking it out. I haven't found LE to be lacking too much for what I need. I feel much better about being legal. ;) You can also find a bunch of free plugins.
