I'm pricing out new systems to cover it and I tell you it is hard, even this many years later. There was one time that Sweetwater tried to do a turn in you PARIS system to get a new something with way less track count..etc so I didn't go for it because I actually hated anything digital for a long time and hearing PARIS is what won me over and caused me to call and get in right away.
It has been almost 8-10 years now and I am just still trying to replace it
well let me take that back. I will bring the new sytem in to A/B and probably keep it running just to see how long it will last.
I have upgraded the drives and am now running with some bad sectors and will likely just image the drive and get a new scsi drive and it will run as long as that machine stays running--
BTW--Well over track counts in the hundreds with plugs and only a 800Mhz with 800mb of RAM----Still nothing doing this at what this cost me.
Someone had mentioned the patchbay wasnt the greatest and that was true but it did allow me to hook my TC-M1 and use the digital effect as a plugin from the DAW--that sounds sweet----
Which brings me to where I am at now. Pricing some systems and interfaces and although the PT HD looks impressive it is soooooo much money.
I actually had PCAudio labs price out a new system with computer, interface, controller and software to try and match and it was a decent price for what you get.
I am not opposed to going the mac route but I just don't seeing anything but the HD that impresses me as far as a "system" goes.
My setup now is 2 16 channel mixers/direct outs go to PARIS interface(16inputs)
I'm looking for something that will replace this--not be a wooden leg of what was once there
Any OLD PARIS users? What do you use now?
