This was the first recording software I bought. I loved it so much and it took me ages to upgrade to GTP3.

Anyone used to use it or still use it?

Absolutely. I love it. I like things simple and user friendly. I've looked at GTpro3 but have been afraid to upgrade. Don't like the looks of the screenshots.

So, since you took the plunge, how about a comparison report?

I made the "jump" from GTP2 to GTP3 when it first came out. I've been very happy with v3 and I really can't remember that much about v2 but I do like the screen views better in v3.

Gtp2

I used GTP 2 when i changed over from multitrack to computer based and i must say that it was the best software for that task. I will say that GTP3 is a much warmer looking program. I use sonar and am making the change to nuendo shortly. If you are gonna be spending countless hour gazing at a monitor then software that is easy on the eyes is a plus. Good Luck.

The fact that GT3 supports 24 bit recording, when GT2 never did (despite what it says on the box) was reason enough for me to upgrade.

Plus all those extra buses, plugins...I wonder if there'll be a GT4

Ok, yeah it took me a while to switch to GTP3. I initially didn't like the screenshots of it either. I was a big fan of GTP2. It was my first PC recording software and I kind of stayed loyal to it for a fair while.

Eventually when I realised that I could upgrade and it wouldn't cost me the $200 I paid for GTP2, I switched. I am now a big supporter of GTP3...it has a lot of features and it is an improvement. The extra range of effects is good and the layout isn't as busy as I first thought

I still look back on my time with GTP2 fondly. It was a great little program
