Alan Hyatt posted just today or yesterday on his forum over at ro that he thinks it will be end of the year at the earliest.

Ask DJL. He seems to have the inside track on all the SP products

I spoke to someone at SP in August who said it would be available most likely in the spring. Also, it is not just a 2-channel version of the VTB1. Apparently the VTB2 will be especially set-up for computer interface.

So, I got 2 VTB1's. Love 'em.

Noooo. Not another nerd preamp.
What the hell is wrong with a goodsounding preamp, with transformatorbalanced inputs, tubes on high voltage, impendance matching and some other shit. Make it 2U with quality VU's and I would buy it without thinkg twice.

With computerinterface....I'm suddenly paying for things I don't need, and that doesn't improve it's sound. So I'll pass.

Well that's what I heard, but maybe the "stuff you don't need" won't take away from the stuff you want? I can't imagine SP releasing anything but a fine product. We'll see. I must say though, as a self-contained DAW owner, who doesn't use a PC for recording, I feel like a dying breed.

The computer in my studio is for writing invoices and e-mails.

I don't think the quality goes down with a PC-ready preamp, but I do believe that the price goes up. For features I don't need.
