any new products out, or due out soon?

Hey all,
I've been out of the loop for a while in terms of whats new in music production. Is anybody anticipating the release of a new product? any new sound cards coming out soon? any new software? I had a quick look at the echo webpage and they are gonna launch a firewire soundcard in March. it doesn't look like anything special though... it better be pretty low priced for what you get, that is for sure.

yeah i just read a review of the new mackie onyx series. It looks pretty sweet. I'm drooling.
 
it's pretty pricy though....
what is it... $650ish? you couold get a layla 3G (although it is PCI insted of firewre) and be out two preamps but have more I/O and less cost. how much is a motu firewire card running for these days?
 
Yeah only 4 preamps too.

Even though it doesn't do 192, the Firepod looks the better deal
 
How about the new ECHO Firewire12 which has 21 channels of I/O via firewire. Street price will be around $700.00
 
ya i mentioned those echo firewire cards at the top as well. $700 bucks seems like a lot of money for a card that doesn't really offer too many features. i would take a motu firewire card over the echo one i think
