Hi, I found the following on the shop neaby and so any comments and other better suggestions?

Basically, would like to have good piano-like action. I usually play the modern church music, pop and blues sound.

Roland rd700sx: $1800
Roland rd300sx: $1200
korg tr88: $1500
yamaha cp33: $1100
yamaha p140: $1000

Thanks!

Cheers!!!

Have you played on any one of them yet? :D

Keyboards are really preference I like the p70 its cheaper then p140 by 500 dollars and gets the job done the same way. Thats my opinion I suggest trying to play every keyboard you can get your hands on. Some stores have better keyboard departments check in your local area by asking around pianist which store they like the best.

how about korg tr88? indeed, i prefer either tr88 or roland rd300sx where tr88 seems having more features though i won't use at this moment.

That is the key phrase. Years ago my step dad wanted a computer and I asked "what do you need to use it for?", he said to just to get on the internet. So I suggested a 2nd hand PC had only 500mghtz processor and 128mb of RAM with 5gb HD and a $9.99 dial up service. The next time I saw him he was cursing cause he had to wait so long downloading music. :P

I would get the TR :)

Cheers

I'm looking at the Yamaha S90ES [technically a synthesizer] - should be able to get it for around 1800, the grand piano samples are supposed to be wonderful & the 88-key weighted action feels great - 128 polyphony, plus you get all the MOTIF ES sounds

Yes, I think YAMAHA makes great pianos on their synths :) I also own Motif Classic and ES. They cut thru the mix well. You won't be disappointed :D

Good luck on which ever you choose :)

The other option, which is generally the way I go, is find the controller you like, and then the sound source. For example, I use a Studiologic controller, and can pick and choose the piano sounds I want, be it Kurzweil, Motif, or soft-synth.
