Depends on what your looking for but the Motif seems to be very popular with rock bands these days. For more of a classic sound like Hammond/Rhodes/Whurlitzer a Nord Electro is the way to go

Yo Often Seen:

You will find stuff on the Motiff to keep you busy for many moons.

There is a gaggle of organ sounds, and then you can tweak them.

Mucho piano sounds, guitar sounds, and sounds I haven't even turned on yet.

If you are into computer recording, you can plug your Motif right in via the output.

If you are doing gigs, then your sound will depend upon what type of speaker you drag along.

I hated to unplug my DX-7; however, it was time and the Motif is a bit ahead of its time.

But, then, other models by Roland, Korg, and others can do a good job. Your ears will tell you when to open your wallet; thus, try to get hands on demos and pick one.
