I first bought Sonar at version 2. I'm currently using version 5. It's quite a step forward to me. It will be a big improvement to you if you are coming from 2.2. The sonitus effects suite is not flashy, but extremely useful and low cpu. The lexicon reverb came in version 3 I believe and its serviceable though I prefer the sonitus verb to it 9 times out of ten. The addition of track folders was really helpful as well. Thats something I never thought about, but after I had it I cant believe I went without it for so long. In the newest version you also get Psyn II which is a good quality VA synth, if you're into such things. There were some bugs in the envelope automation sytem in 5, but those seem to be worked out here as of 5.2. The audio engine has also been improved since 2.2. It's a pretty full package now. I think you'd enjoy the upgrade as it will add alot of cool new toys and functions for you to explore. I also use a 1010 and have m-powered as well. It rarely gets much use. It may be because I've used it for far longer, but I find that I'm faster at accomplishing what I want with Sonar. Besides, you already are familiar with the Sonar way of working so you'd be able to pick up all the new features pretty quickly as opposed to learning a whole new system. Hope some of that helps.
